“The most important thing about the charts is that they update in real-time. Of course, a picture of the chart makes it look like a static thing, but it is anything but that. Every second or so, the current candle is updated.

One moment it may be a short blue candle, the next it may transform into a longer red candle, as price oscillates quickly. Only at the end of the two-minute period does the final shape of the candle settle, and you can see a new candle beginning to be painted.

I cannot over emphasise the benefits of having this speedy, smooth real-time update working for you. It enables you to get a real feel for the market dynamics.

Some charting packages only update two-minute charts at the end of the two-minute period; I can work with that, but it is not nearly so informative. Other packages are not real-time at all and there is a lengthy delay before the chart is updated.”
